I have been fortunate enough to sustain a living by playing live and acting as Musical Director for live performances that have taken me to many places around the globe.
I've had many long stretches of playing 6 days a week, and I'm no stranger to world travel and the conditions that come with it. People say I'm a good hang, and I try to live up to that. You have to be easy to get along with when you travel with your bandmates and co-workers.
You also have to be a professional. I'm very used to rehearsing as much as 6-8 hours a day, 6 days a week if the job calls for it. I've found ways to manage myself and my energy to avoid burnout.
I believe that rehearsals are for running a show or making arrangement decisions, not for learning. It's for this reason that I always come prepared with all my parts learned and transcribed. This standard was set for me long ago, and I have this standard to thank for keeping me employed!
If you need a drama-free, drug-free keyboardist, I'm your guy. My focus is on playing my role on-stage and making sure that the audience has a memorable experience. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.
I have plenty of experience with many types of keyboards, software, monitoring, in-ear monitoring, click tracks, playing to click tracks, running rehearsals, designing keyboard sounds and patches for live use, memorizing songs and cues, blocking, and even some choreography. I also have experience playing rhythm guitar and singing back-up vocals.
